The End of the Spring Semester

It's now the end of the semester, and I only have my AP II final left. I am getting A's in all of my classes, but in English Comp II, I am only hanging on to the A by .2 percentage points. I just turned in my last essay, so it could make or break both my grade and my chances of getting into the nursing program.

I feel like I have a fairly good chance of getting into the accelerated program that starts this summer, but my chances will seriously decrease if I only manage a 'B' in English. I am so scared.

I may know as early as the end of next week if I'm in or not. If I don't hear by the 24th, I am supposed to call.

Wish me luck on the HAPS test tomorrow.

January 23, 2010: Prereqs and Grades and the TEAS Test, Oh My!

I made it through my first semester of prerequisites. Unfortunately, I earned a ‘B’ in Anatomy and Physiology and in Introductory Sociology. This means I when it comes time to tally up the rankings of nursing school hopefuls at NWACC, I will be missing two possible points.

I actually considered retaking A & P, but I have six classes this semester. I really don’t have the time to focus on another one at this point, and I also have to start preparing for the TEAS test.

I would have started studying for it this very weekend, if I knew which version of the test the NWACC nursing department had chosen. The study guide is almost forty dollars, which is very pricey, but the test is my chance to make up for the two points I’m lacking.

I started Spring classes this past Tuesday, and I have Microbiology, A & P II, and Beginning Guitar (more on that later) on campus. Comp II, Growth and Development, and Intro to Computer Information Systems are online. My goal is to earn As in all of these classes, and I am choosing to believe that it’s possible
